Tempo’s PCB Assembly Certifications & Industry Accreditations

At Tempo, building the highest quality electronic circuit boards that meet your design intent is the driving force of our operations. Our ability to do so is reflected in the PCB assembly certifications and industry accreditations we hold.

Certifications & Accreditations

AS9100D and ISO 9001

AS9100D Quality Management Systems Requirements for Aviation, Space and Defense Organizations, based on a standard published by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), provides direction and guidelines for establishing and maintaining a system to deliver electronics systems at the level required by the aerospace industry.

ISO 9001: 2015 is a non-industry specific certification for organizations that maintain a quality management system. This international standard is a member of the ISO 9000 family that emphasizes a customer-centric approach to creating products and delivering services.

ISO 13485

Tempo is an ISO 13485 certified contract manufacturer, which means our PCBA manufacturing process meets the requirements for building boards for companies in the medical devices industry. Whether for class 1, class 2, or class 3 products, we build boards that meet the reliability and safety standards for medical device development. And we employ quality control, documentation, and traceability protocols to support our partners’ electronic device QMS process requirements.

IPC J-STD-001 Space and Military Addendum

Tempo was among the first manufacturers to be site certified for IPC J-STD-001, which includes requirements for materials and equipment. The Space and Military Addendum qualifies Tempo to build critical systems PCBAs that often exceed the highest IPC-A-610 classification requirements. These PCBAs must perform reliably and meet the safety standards for harsh environment operations.

IPC J-STD-001/IPC-A-610

IPC-A-610 and IPC J-STD-001 are inspection standards that govern the fabrication and assembly processes for circuit boards. There are three performance classes stipulated by IPC-610, and Tempo routinely performs work at the most stringent class 3 level. This level requires the use of high-reliability, on-demand electronic products and boards that provide uninterrupted service over their operations life cycles.

ANSI/ESD S20.20-2014

ANSI/ESD S20.20-2014 Protection of Electrical and Electronic Parts, Assemblies and Equipment (Excluding Electrically Initiated Explosive Devices) establishes technical and administrative standards for building and handling boards that may be susceptible to electrostatic discharge (ESD). ESD avoidance is important when moisture is present, or when handling these boards to preserve usability and avoid dangerous contingencies that could threaten users.

In addition to the certifications above, Tempo is among the PCBA manufacturers that meet the requirements for Qualified Manufacturer Listing (QML) with IPC and is a registered member of leading organizations that seek to improve PCBA manufacturing technology through collaboration with professionals around the globe.
