SAN FRANCISCO, October 26, 2020 – Tempo Automation, the world’s leading software-accelerated electronics manufacturer, today announced that it has appointed Bill Schmitt as its new Chief Revenue Officer. Bringing 30 years of experience in software and manufacturing technologies to the role, Bill will oversee Tempo’s go-to-market, including sales and marketing, to drive the next stages of growth at the company.
“We are thrilled to welcome Bill to Tempo’s management team,” said Joy Weiss, President and CEO of Tempo Automation. “Bill’s track record of growing technology-driven businesses will accelerate Tempo’s impressive momentum in transforming electronic product development for the world’s innovators.”
Bill most recently served as Senior Vice President at Matterport, where he built the go-to-market team from the ground up and drove hypergrowth for the company. Under his leadership, Matterport, which recently went public through a SPAC at a $3.5 billion valuation, ranked 26 on the Inc 5000 list in 2017 and made the list again in 2018. Bill has also held leadership roles at Agile Software, Autodesk, and QuinStreet. He received a BS in electrical engineering from Vanderbilt, a Masters in Manufacturing Management from Northwestern University, and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
“Tempo’s breakthrough, software-automated electronics manufacturing platform delivers unprecedented speed, quality and agility at the most critical time in a product’s lifecycle-prototype through new product introduction-when fast iteration and time to market are imperatives,” said Schmitt. “I’m excited to be joining the company at a time of tremendous growth and look forward to my role in helping amplify its success.”
